Great Idea Thursday's - 44

Welcome to:

2, 4, 6, 8 who do we appreciate? Internet, internet, working internet YEAH!!! Ok, so maybe that's a little over the top but that's totally how I'm feeling. Last week was the pits with no router. There was not a Features post but I will get one this week! As long as the new router continues to work properly, cross your fingers for me (sideways glance at the black box with green blinking lights). Everything looks good so far...

I am so ready for next week because in my two year old preschool class we are starting a whole month of Dr. Seuss! It's going to be so much fun.  I'm hoping to get some prototype crafts made up this weekend so I can share it with ya'll before Dr. Seuss's birthday in March but if it doesn't happen who doesn't love a great Dr. Seuss book and craft any day of the year?

Thanks for stopping by to party with me and Miss Joy! I hope you like it here at A Handful of Everything and come back again :)

Please give a big hello to my fabulous Co-Host:

Great Idea Thursday's - 43

Welcome to:

Oh my goodness.  You don't realize how wonderful having a working wireless router is until you don't have one! Being without the internet has proved challenging.  I am hoping to have a new router up and running tonight, needless to say my stress level has been a little high... Argh. Electronics! Can't live with them, and you can't live without them.

Anyway, it has been an exciting week.  I posted with Parade.com, made my Cherry Cheesecake Coca Cola Brownies for the Lady Behind the Curtain Dessert Challenge, and I made my First post for the Grain Mill Wagon Challenge! I am loving making my own whole grain flour and I have been like a kid in the candy store making bread this week! Hopefully my internet will work better so I can actually post what I have made but I'll take what I can get :) Anyway, I'm really excited about the fun new things going on here and I hope you are too! Thanks so much for joining me every week! And if all goes well, I will actually get Fabulous Features up tomorrow.  Cross your fingers for me! (chant with me: Internet, internet, internet!) I think that will be my mantra for the next few days lol.

Please give a big hello to my fabulous Co-Host:

This is what I posted this week:

What amazing creations have you come up with this week?
An InLinkz Link-up

Easy No Knead Wheat Bread

Last night I posted my first recipe made with my brand new WonderMill as part of the Grain Mill Wagon Challenge! I am so excited to be participating in this challenge.  I love making homemade fresh breads and I am having a hay day making my own flour.  The WonderMill is amazing.  It literally takes only minutes to make your own flour and I have been ecstatic with the results. There has been some serious experimenting going on in my kitchen :) Needless to say the actual bread has been disappearing at an alarming rate, but that just gives me an excuse to make more!

My husband laughed at me the day it came in the mail.  I was like a kid in the candy store putting the parts together and running around buying grain to use! What can I say, I'm a Food Geek :)

Anyway, I hope you give this recipe a try and let me know what you think.

More is coming soon! Check out my post at the Grain Mill Wagon Blog: www.grainmillwagon.com

I Heart You Valentine's Applique Quilt

Today my Post is at Parade.com

What do you think? Do you love my fun Valentine's Quilt?

If so, *Pretty Please* visit the link to the full DIY post at Parade.com and leave a comment! If enough of my fabulous friends, family, and readers leave comments I may be offered an opportunity to become a regular contributor! Needless to say, I would be immensely grateful for your comment love :)

I am thrilled with how fun it turned out. I love how the pinks just pop up off the monochromatic background. I made this quilt as a blanket for my sweet cousins first baby girl! I can't wait to see what she thinks of it, it goes off in the mail today!

After I finished the blanket, I thought it would be adorable as Valentines Day wall hanging. It's a great size for both.

I was offered this amazing opportunity through Sverve. For those of you who aren't familiar with Sverve, check it out (I'd love it if you endorsed me while you are there! I always return the favor :) ) It's a great place to connect with brands and get some fabulous blogging opportunities!

Cherry Cheesecake Coca Cola Brownies

This post is for the February Behind the Curtain Dessert Challenge! Every month Miss Sheryl @ The Lady Behind the Curtain hosts this amazing challenge.  We are given two new ingredients every month to work with and then we must create a new dessert recipe using those ingredients.  For Valentine's Day we were given Cherry and Coke. Since I've already made Cherry Coca Cola Cupcakes I had to put on my thinking cap and come up with something new.  After a few baking fails I did find a winner! Enter the Cherry Cheesecake Coca Cola Brownies.

Cherry Cheesecake Coca Cola Brownies

Brownie
18.4 oz Supreme Original Brownie Mix with Hershey's in a pouch
1/4 cup Coca Cola
1/2 cup oil
1 extra large egg, lightly beaten

Cheesecake
8 oz cream cheese, softened
6 Tbsp (1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp) sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 extra large egg

1/2 recipe for Easy Homemade Cherry Pie Filling or 1 15 oz can of Cherry Pie Filling.

Preheat oven to 375˚ F. If making your own cherry pie filling follow these directions now. Set aside to cool.

In a large bowl add the brownie mix.  Snip the end of the Hershey's syrup and add to the dry ingredients along with the Coca Cola, oil, and lightly beaten egg.  With a rubber spatula or wooden spoon mix until all the dry ingredients are completely incorporated. But don't over-mix.

Spray a 8x10" baking dish and pour in the brownie batter, spreading evenly with the spatula.

In a separate bowl beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.  Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla.  Beat for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.

Carefully spoon the cheesecake mixture on top of the brownie batter already in the pan.

Using a knife, swirl the batters together using a figure 8 motion.

Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top of the cheesecake and brownie mixture.  Repeat the figure 8 pattern using the knife again over the mixture creating a marbled pattern with all three layers.

Bake in your preheated oven for 40-50 minutes until the top is set completely but not cracked. Remove to a cooling rack.

Cool completely.

Cut and serve. This is fabulous topped with whipped cream.

Refrigerate any leftovers!
This tastes even better the next day which makes it the perfect make ahead dessert.
